ALPENA – Almost 200 people took part in the Alpena Suicide Prevention Walk in downtown Alpena on Saturday.

The second annual walk organized by the Alpena Suicide Prevention Team raised awareness about suicide and raised funds for programs to help prevent suicide.

The event started at Bay View Park and the two mile walk passed through downtown Alpena, down 2nd Avenue, along the Thunder Bay River, up 9th Avenue, then back down Chisholm to the park. .
