Astroworld Festival: Music, entertainment at the Travis Scott event

Travis Scott’s competition has become one of the city’s biggest revelations and brings some of Houston’s historic past to life.

HOUSTON – Tens of hundreds of people packed the Astroworld festival on Friday night, which featured organizer Travis Scott, joined on stage by Drake.

Lots of people in the crowd were there all day.

“I’ve been listening to Travis since I was 17,” said festival goer Andrew Espinoza. “He barely released a mixtape. “

Espinoza simply blew Scott’s music up in Houston last night after driving here from California.

“He was also a rage,” he said. “Just Travis all the way. Got here, I slept a bit. We’re ready for two days of this.

Two days of music. Two days of walks. Two days of video games. Two days to celebrate Houston’s native son.

Newbie Arlene Avalos has spent most of Friday simply absorbing everything the Astroworld festival has to provide.

“It’s crazy and I love it,” she said.

Arlene was one of the many early risers who ventured out of the blue field of NRG Park, across the pedestrian bridge over Kirby, and made it through the gates.

Crowds enter the competition

Things got tense as the crowds increased during the competition. A Twitter user captured this video of individuals stepping on others as they exerted their efforts indoors.

Scharell Aho and Dillon Rowell hit an extra crowd once they got here.

“It took us a while to get in here,” they said. “It was a bit hectic.”

But as soon as they walk in they say they are going to make it “legendary”.

Legendary is a good phrase to explain the vibe of Astroworld. There is no round table ready for the next act.

This year’s Astroworld features over 30 carnival rides and video games.

“We had prizes, man. Great carnival games, ”said Matthew Martinez, who is at the Astroworld Festival for the third year. “I’ll go ahead and show you. Eyeball pillow. Cactus. Blanket. Then, a tote bag to put your goodies in.
